France - 2 Euro, The 30th anniversary of the Music Day, 2011

The 2 Euro Commemorative coin of France on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the French "Fete de la musique" (Music Day), which first took place in France in 1981 and has since spread to many other countries. The purpose of this all-night music celebration on the summer solstice is to promote music for amateur and professional musicians with free concerts open to the public. The centre of the coin shows a group of singers and musicians with the inscription referring to the 30th anniversary and the event of 21 June 2011 above them.
