April 2013 | Queen Beatrix abdicates in favour of King Willem-Alexander

Investiture of King Willem-Alexander takes place after well-loved queen of the Netherlands signs abdication document in Amsterdam, ending her 33-year reign.

To mark this occasion, the Netherlands will issue a 2 Euro commemorative coin with a double portrait to celebrate the Change of Throne Announcement.
