April 2013 | The Hellenic Numismatic Program of 2013

The Ministry of Finance has recently announced the Hellenic Numismatic Program of 2013, which will include the following products:

Commemorative coins

  • Commemorative 2 Euro Coin UNC issued to celebrate the “2400TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE FOUNDING OF PLATO’S ACADEMY”

  • Commemorative 2 Euro Coin UNC issued to celebrate the “100TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE UNION OF CRETE WITH GREECE”

  • Collectors’ blister skin pack with the 2 Euro Commemorative Coin issued to celebrate the “2400TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE FOUNDING OF PLATO’S ACADEMY” (maximum mintage of 7,500 pieces)

  • Collectors’ blister skin pack with the 2 Euro Commemorative Coin issued to celebrate the “100TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE UNION OF CRETE WITH GREECE” (maximum mintage of 7,500 pieces)


Collectors coins

  • Collector Coin with face value of 5 Euro commemorating the “150 YEARS SINCE THE BIRTH AND 80 YEARS SINCE THE DEATH OF KONSTANTINOS KAVAFIS”

  • Gold Collector Coin with face value of 200 Euro, dedicated to the Father of Medicine “HIPPOCRATES OF KOS” (maximum mintage of 1,200 pieces)

  • Silver Collector Coin with face value of 20 Euro, dedicated to the Father of Medicine “HIPPOCRATES OF KOS” (maximum mintage of 1,000 pieces)

  • Silver Collector Coin with face value of 10 Euro, dedicated to the “Hellenic Culture & Civilization” with two themes: “PYTHAGORAS OF SAMOS” and “SOPHOCLES” (maximum mintage of 1,000 pieces per theme)

  • Mini Gold Collector Coin with face value of 50 Euro, dedicated to the “MYCENAEAN ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE OF TIRYNS” (maximum mintage of 1,000 pieces)


Coin sets

  • Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) sets of Greek Euro Coins, containing the eight denominations, dedicated to “THE ISLANDS OF MYKONOS AND DELOS” (maximum mintage of 20,000 pieces)

  • PROOF COIN SET with all denominations of 2013 (maximum mintage of 4,000 pieces)
