Hello Kitty was born on 1 November 1974 in the suburbs of London. She's as tall as five apples, her major signature consists in a red ribbon that she always wears on her left ear, and she has a very big heart. Her favourite word is friendship! As Hello Kitty always says, "you can never have too many friends!” Over the years, she has become one of the most unique pop characters, a symbol of the Japanese kawaii tradition, a global social icon and a source of inspiration for everyone. To mark her 50th anniversary, Monnaie de Paris is paying tribute to this iconic character by minting collector coins featuring the one and only Hello Kitty. The obverse of the coin features a Hello Kitty proposes a traditional version of a Parisian woman : with a ribbon in the colours of the French flag, she strolls along with her beret, baguette and she poses in front of The Eiffel Tower and Notre-Dame de Paris. On the reverse, ribbons, the main signature that she always wears on her left ear. The words "50th Anniversary" are also present as a reminder of her birthday. Hello Kitty holds the face value, the wording "RF" and the year 2024 are present on the coin.
