Germany - 10 Euro Silver PROOF, Hansel and Gretel, 2014
Silver collector coin 10 euro "Hansel and Gretel" 2014. It is the third edition in a series of coins launched in 2012, in which a coin themed around Grim fairytales will be issued each year for six years. The coin’s obverse depicts popular elements of the fairy tale. It shows the witch surprising Hansel and Gretel, a key scene from the fairy tale. The witch’s house is represented by a gingerbread brick, which has been bitten into and is lying on the ground. The children’s expressions and posture reflect their feelings of temptation and terror. The reverse features an eagle framed by the words "BUNDESREPUBLIK DEUTSCHLAND", the value and denomination, the letter "G" for the federal mint in Karlsruhe, Baden-Wurttemberg, the year 2014, and the twelve stars of Europe.
