France - 2 Euro, 70th anniversary of the D-Day, 2014
The D-DAY, 6 June 1944, marked the beginning of the Allied landings in Normandy, during the Second World War. During the night of 5th to 6th of June, despite the considerable military assets deployed in place, the losses of human life would exceed 3 000 soldiers out of the 150 000 men engaged in the operation.
