Slovenie - 2 euro, University of Ljubljana, 2019

Commemorative 2 euro coin dedicated to the centenary of the founding of the University of Ljubljana. The university opened on 3 December 1919, a few months after the promulgation of the university law by the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes. The founding of the university made it easier for Slovenian students to get the chance to study, since the collapse of the Habsburg monarchy meant they could no longer study at Austrian universities, and established the foundation for the development of the sciences in Slovenia.
